This is a classic parlor album, specifically designed for cartes de visite (CDVs) or the larger cabinet cards that were incredibly popular from the 1860s through the end of the century.
These slotted pages were a brilliant Victorian innovation. Because the photographs of that era were mounted on stiff cardboard, the slots allowed people to easily slide the portraits in and out without needing messy glue or paste, which would have ruined the images.

Families typically kept these albums prominently displayed in the parlor as a status symbol and a form of social entertainment. Visiting guests would flip through them to see portraits of the family, friends, and often commercially purchased photos of royalty, politicians, or celebrities.

This photo is of the Old Anchor Inn in Abingdon, Oxfordshire at approximately this location.
It is not know why this photo meant something to Harry, but some of his relatives lived in Woodstock, near Blenheim Palace, about 20 miles away.
A few of the individual photos later in the album were taken at Warland Andrew's photography in Abingdon, which is possibly a family link to the Andrew surname way back when.

The first photo in the book must be Harry. This Photo was made at Lafayette Photographic studios.
This photo is dated between 1897 and 1900 by virtue of the lack of Belfast as a listed studio location.
The Subject and Fashion: The photograph features a gentleman with a carefully groomed handlebar mustache, styled hair parted on the side, and formal attire including a suit jacket with high lapels, a waistcoat, a tie, and a pocket square. This grooming and sartorial style is highly characteristic of the late 1890s to early 1900s.
Because Lafayette catered heavily to the upper classes and aristocracy, the subject was likely a man of some social standing or means.

A strange mix of outdoor wall & drainpipe with indoor chair and carpetting, this was obviously staged in the Photographers workshop. as are most of the photos of this era.
The boy's outfit, particularly the oversized ruffled collar, is heavily influenced by the "Little Lord Fauntleroy" fashion craze that was extremely popular for young children in the late 1880s through the turn of the century. The location on Hamilton Road places this studio right in the bustling commercial heart of late Victorian or Edwardian Felixstowe.
