We were both a bit worried about today's journey... There seemed to be quite a few mountains on the way to Oban, and a really steep hill from there to Connel where we were going to finish... My stomach was all over the place with nerves to be honest, but we both realised that we had been rushing through the cycling too much in the last few days, so we wanted to slow down a little and enjoy it a bit more today... And that's what we did.. And it was great... The midges were out today, but luckily not too bad, hence today's title, remembering midge ure's best song.
Keith (Emslie), get ready to be homesick.. Here's some photos from the journey today.. The scenery was stunning today... I have been to Scotland when I was young, but I just don't remember it like this... Just fantastic..
We had a break at the kilpoch hotel.. Not bad at all for a place to stay...!
When we got to Oban we in need of some nourishment, so we had some local scallops in garlic butter.. Fantastic..!
you can see the coliseum folly at the top of the hill above Oban..
Once in Connel, we checked in, showered, and then went out for a walk across the bridge over the falls of lora..
And just to make you feel jealous of us (instead of feeling sorry for us, as it has been on the journey so far!).. Here's a photo of the view looking towards the Isle of mull, and the view from the front door of the B & B..
Tomorrow we have to catch a few small ferries and pass fort William, heading to Spean bridge... Thanks for your prayers with the weather, they seem to be working today, and let's hope it continues...!
