Day 10: Scotland welcomes you

Today was the good day that we deserved.. It was overall downhill to Carlisle, flat pretty much all the way to dumfries, and lovely and sunny... And then we saw the sign that made another milestone...

It was another emotional time for us... A manly handshake and pat on the back, and we soon pushed on to dumfries. *someone* became a bit emotional when they saw the sign... is that a tear in your eye...??

.. Don't mention the 'p' word in front of the bikes (puncture), but we had our first hole in the inner tube today.. Coming through Penrith, by back wheel was getting low, and by the time we were a few miles outside we had to replace it.. 5 minutes and we were on the road again.

Just outside Carlisle, we wanted a tea break, and came across an (Eddie) Stobart cafe..!... Perfect place to eat after all the lorries that had passed us...! And good food too..!

Tomorrow we are off to Dalmellington.. It's a 65 mile day, but possibly with a strong headwind at the end of the day, and with a few hills, it's unlikely to be an easy one.
