What a great day today... It's amazing what good weather and beautiful scenery does to your day... We set off knowing there was no rush today with the wait for the ferry later today, and after getting a few miles done, we took a break...
Just after the start, we bumped into an older guy doing lands end to John O'Groats.. He asked how long we had been going, and we explained that this was day 13... But apparently he's been going since October...!.. I don't feel so bad about taking 18 days for our trip now.
The first section of today included a few parts of the national cycle network, which was either on paths next to the road, or on disused railway routes that are nice and level..!
We also came across this castle while on the route.. Lovely...
Once we got the first of today's ferries, we were heading down the opposite side of the Glen to Ben nevis.. It was a very quiet road with almost no traffic and no sound, and great views of Ben nevis... And if you are not sure where Ben nevis is, it's the one we're pointing at...
We got to the ferry with plenty of time to spare.. About 2 hours...!... And filled the time by being talked to by a nice couple, who even donated to the charity too...
So when the ferry arrived, they strapped the bikes to the side of the boat and set off for fort William...
We got to spean bridge later than we usually do, but that was ok because of the ferry delay and the fantastic views we had all day.. We're off to beuly tomorrow.. It's another 55 miles, but hopefully the weather is good...
