well here we are with two weeks to go... time flies when you're having fun, doesn't it...!
The training has been 'consistent' as yen puts it. I'm actually quite surprised by the leg muscles I have now.. they look like mark cavendish's thighs (I just wish I had his wallet!). the flights are booked, the packing list is done (and weighed.. I know... I'm sad!)..
the only thing that isn't playing the game is the weather in the UK.. there's plenty of forecasts that are predicting 'changeable' weather until at least the middle of June... hmm..
The charity donations have been fantastic..!.. I am a little overwhelmed with the size of them, and have now realised that I actually have to finish the whole thing...!.. it's still the hills in Cornwall and Devon that scare me, so if I make through the first 4 days, I'll feel like I'm only a few miles from John O'Groats anyway..!
We've decided that we're not going to have a rest day, so the itinerary has changed a little... instead of a 35 mile day over Arran, we're doing that as part of a longer day, but that should be fine.
There's plenty of training still to do, and Tin Hau Temple Road has been good for the training, but bad for my mental state (it's Steeeeeep!).. and I've probably got another long day in the saddle tomorrow from Tung Chung to Disneyland a few times.
more updates soon. Have fun, take care.
Nick.
