Knowing today was a short day with good weather, we took our time, and it was lovely... Beautiful scenery and easy riding... Early on we bumped into Paul in a cafe... He is doing the end - to - end on his own, unsupported, in 13 days... He was heading for a hotel just 15 miles further on than Lairg, where we were going, so he joined us for the rest of the day. This was a really nice as it meant that I didn't have to talk to Andrew as much, which was getting seriously tiring... Lol... He said the same, so I'm allowed to put it in the blog...!
This was us with paul...
Coming towards Lairg, we pumped up my tyre with an air cartridge... Just a few minutes on, and there was a huge bang, and my tube had a huge hole in it, and the edge of the tyre was shredded...!.. The tyre I'd been carrying since arran at last came into use, and the tyre and tube were changed in no time...
We had a good day, chatting and riding, and had a great lunch at the falls of shin...! It was a lovely sunny day, but unfortunately, the last lovely day for this journey... We've had to replan tomorrow due to the headwinds, which are up to 20mph tomorrow, and 25mph, with rain, the day after...! We've decided to push on from the planned 55 miles to go as far as possible to Thurso, meaning an almost 80 mile day, but at least making the last day possible... Wish us luck...!
