So we spent some time last night looking for an alternative route to Hesdin from St Pol, as the direct route goes up a hill, across it and then back down it.... and it turns out that both towns are on the same river and railway line, which a road follows....!!... and what a brilliant road it was too...!.. great for cycling, as we could keep our speed up with gentle slopes, if not mostly flat....
... we averaged just over 20km/hour today, which is good for us....!!!... let's hope it stays that way from now on... (yeah, right...!).... but this meant that we were at the hotel around midday, leaving us the rest of the day to relax... and it's a nice place to relax in.... this is the views from the doors from the room to the garden.... right where I'm sitting now....!!
.. We've just been for some lunch, and saw a strange old house for sale (plants were growing in the front room even...!!)... and in the hotel parking lot there was an old Bentley too, with GB plates on it.... I haven't seen the owner yet, but if I do I'll ask for a tour...!!!!
... have a good one, I'm sitting in the garden for the rest of the day....!!!
