With only 16kms to go to the ferry in Calais it was always going to be an easy day... it was till very hot, but looked at times like the thunder might come... the road we were following was next to a canal, so was always going to be basically flat... we love roads next to canals....
We got the ferry two hours earlier than planned, so ended up getting off the train at hollingbourne at around 1:30, ready for the hill up to Kingswood... This was Drew conquering the Park Barn Farm hill, and the view ahead towards the village....
We got back home at about 10 past 2....
What a fantastic trip.... I can't believe we travelled so far... and we were talking on the ferry.... it's weird how the day we left on 14th June seems like it's sooooooo far away, and yet not so long ago.... I can't fully explain it, but the trip was everything I wanted from it... and isn't that as much as you can ask from a holiday...????
